ALLELUIA (2-part)
Alleluia, Alleluia,
*Amen, Amen
BACK OF THE LOAF
Back of the loaf is the snowy flour,
And back of the flour is the mill,
And back of the mill is the wheat and the shower,
And the sun and the Father's will.
FOR FOOD, FOR RAIMENT
For food, for raiment,
For life and opportunity,
For friendship and fellowship,
We thank Thee, O Lord.
FOR HEALTH AND STRENGTH
For health and strength and daily bread
We praise Thy name O Lord.
GOD HAS CREATED A NEW DAY
God has created a new day,
Silver and green and gold.
Live that the sunset may find us
Worthy His gift to hold.
HARK TO THE CHIMES
Hark to the chimes, come bow your head,
Thanks be to God for this good bread.
HERMIT'S PRAYER
If we all said a prayer for each other every day,
What a wonderful would this would be.
I would ask God to less you and keep you everyday,
Knowing you'd say the same prayer for me.
IF WE HAVE EARNED THE RIGHT
If we have earned the right to eat this bread,
Happy indeed are we.
But if unmerited Thou givest to us,
May we more thankful be.
JOHNNY APPLESEED
Oh, the Lord is good to me, and so I thank the Lord
For giving me the things I need,
the sun and the rain and the apple seed.
The Lord is good to me.
MORNING IS HERE
Morning is here, the board is spread,
Thanks be to God who gives us bread.
'NEATH TALL GREEN TREES
'Neath these tall green trees we stand,
Asking blessings from Thy hand.
Thanks we give to Thee above,
For our health and strength and love.
O, GIVE THANKS (2 parts)
O, give thanks, O give thanks,
O give thanks unto the Lord
For He is gracious and His *mercy endureth, endureth forever.
(group 1 repeats to "Lord", group 2 sings through once)
SCOTTISH GRACE
Some have meat and cannot eat,
And some have none that want it,
But we have meat and we can eat,
And so the Lord be thank-ed.
WAYFARER'S GRACE
For all the glory of the way,
For Thy protection night and day,
For rooftree, fire, and bed and board,
For friends and home,
We thank Thee, Lord.
